Dimension Films has begun casting for Scream 4, as news has hit the net that Hayden Penettiere, Ashley Greene, Rory Culkin and Lake Bell are in negotiations to star.  With a tentative July production start in Michigan, the film sees the return of writer Kevin Williamson and director Wes Craven to the franchise.

If true, the new cast would star along side returning stars Courtney Cox, David Arquette and Neve Campbell from the original trilogy. With Williamson already under contract to pen the 5th installment, Williamson, Craven and Iya Labunka are producing with a tentative release date of April 15th, 2011.

If deals are finalized, Greene would play Campbell’s cousin ‘Jill’, the heroine of the movie, while Penettiere would play her best friend, a film geek.   Culkin would play the role of the potential love interest for ‘Jill’ and Bell would be a police officer who also went to school with Campbell’s character ‘Sidney’.

As only character descriptions are being sent out to protect the script’s secrecy, casting is moving slow as actors are uncertain as to the main scope of the project.

What do you think of the potential cast?
