We have yet to see their work together, but it looks like Matthias Schoenaerts and Noomi Rapace hit things off on the set of Michaël R. Roskam‘s Animal Rescue. Ahead of Cannes, it’s been revealed that the duo have lined up another thriller that’s selling on the market. According to Deadline, the Bullhead actor and the Prometheus actress will lead the feature debut of Khurram Longi.
Titled Alive Alone, the Black List project will see the Rust & Bone actor play an ex-detainee of Guantanamo Bay, while Rapace’s character is on the run from a crime boss and their paths cross. Production is aiming for an early 2014 start in New York City, so if sales go well at Cannes this month, expect to see further updates soon.
In other casting news, following the recent additions of Annette Bening and Bobby Cannavale, Al Pacino has two new members in the cast of his drama Imagine. According to a press release, Jennifer Garner and Michael Caine have boarded the directorial debut of Crazy, Stupid, Love. and The Guilt Trip writer Dan Fogelman.
The drama follows Pacino’s rock star character who, after finding a letter from John Lennon that was intended to be delivered in his teens, is spurred to set out on a journey to clean up and get back into making music he loves. He carries this out by visiting his estranged son and becoming friends with a hotel manager, where he is staying at in New Jersey. Caine figures in as Pacino’s manager, while Garner takes the role of his daughter-in-law. Production kicks off this summer in Los Angeles for a likely 2014 release.
