Continuing in the world of sci-fi following his post-apocalyptic thriller Snowpiercer, writer-director Bong Joon-ho has now begun shooting his follow-up, Okja. Backed by Brad Pitt’s Plan B and Netflix, we now have the finalized cast. Toplined by Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Paul Dano, the “bold, global adventure” will be led by Seohyun An, playing Mija.

Co-written by Frank‘s Jon Ronson, it follows “a young girl who must risk everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend – a massive animal named Okja.” “With Okja I want to show the beauty that can exist between man and animal, and also the horror between them,” the director says.

Rounding out the cast is Devon Bostick (The 100), Lily Collins (Mirror Mirror), Byun Heebong (The Host), Shirley Henderson (Anna Karenina), Daniel Henshall (The Babadook), Yoon Je Moon (Mother), Choi Wooshik (Set Me Free) and Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead). With shooting taking place in South Korea, Canada and the US, in English and Korean, Netflix is planning a release in 2017, including a limited day and date theatrical run. Considering how well his last monster movie turned out, we can’t wait to see the results of this one.

Are you looking forward to Okja?
