Previously opening squarely between Iron Man 3 and Star Trek Into Darkness, Richard Curtis‘ romance drama About Time seemed like strong counter-programming amongst the summer movie slate, but when Warner Bros. moved its adaptation of The Great Gatsby next to it, the slot suddenly got more competitive. Universal has now bit the bullet and pushed back the Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson-led time-travel romance from May 10th all the way to a limited run on November 1st, then a wide release alongside Thor: The Dark World on November 8th.
In other release date news, Roadside Attractions has confirmed a May 17th, 2013 limited bow for Sarah Polley‘s highly acclaimed documentary Stories We Tell. Diving into an authentic story of a family, the film will see a release alongside J.J. Abrams‘ upcoming blockbuster, as well as limited bows of Noah Baumbach‘s Frances Ha and Venice winner Pieta. Lastly, IFC Films have set a theatrical date for Eran Creevy‘s Ridley Scott-produced crime thriller Welcome to the Punch. Starring James McAvoy, Mark Strong, Andrea Riseborough and Peter Mullan, the film will slide into limited theaters on March 27th, 2013, the be available everywhere on demand three days later.
