For a filmmaker who is synonymous with secrecy, there sure are a lot of trailers released for the latest J.J. Abrams blockbuster tentpole. The latest centers around our mysterious villain, John Harrison (played by Sherlock‘s Benedict Cumberbatch). While other looks have attempted to cover up his overarching plan and character motivation, this one lets loose that he committed some sort of attack, killing many innocent people, and that the Enterprise crew is out to get him, as he continues to commit these terrorist acts.

Most impressive of all in this new international trailer is the sense of scale and setpiece work. Abrams has always excelled at this and here he seems to be taking quite a leap forward — we can only this will pay off and carry through to Star Wars: Episode VII. In the meantime, check out the new international trailer below, along with a new Cumberbatch-centered poster, for the film also starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood and Peter Weller.
