Things have been relatively quiet for the Judge Dredd update from director Pete Travis (Vantage Point), titled simply Dredd. We’ve already seen a look at Karl Urban (Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, RED) as our lead, but there has been no talk of a US release. Today, we have a new look at Urban from Bleeding Cool that gives us a better sense of the costume. With a script by Alex Garland (Sunshine, Never Let Me Go, 28 Days Later), Dredd also stars Olivia Thirlby (The Wackness, Juno) and the image can be seen below.
Synopsis:
DREDD takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Dredd shot in South Africa in 3D for around $50 million, and will see a UK release in December 2011, with hopefully a US debut around the same time.
