There is something about that Japanese voice-over that makes me think of Tetsuo, the Iron Man, and a much cooler film than Real Steel will actually end up being. We have a new international trailer for the robot boxing film and it doesn’t show off that much new footage compared to the theatrical trailer, but there are a few glimpses here and there. It still looks like a cheese-filled, predictable blockbuster that may include some fun. Directed by Shawn Levy (Date Night, Night at the Museum), the film stars Hugh Jackman, Dakota Goyo, Kevin Durand, Anthony Mackie and Evangeline Lilly, you can see the new trailer below via Bleeding Cool.

Synopsis: Hugh Jackman plays Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Real Steel hits theaters October 7th, 2011.
