A few weeks ago we reported the new Jackass film would begin shooting this January. It is now official that the film is happening and set to be released in October. Jeff Tremaine will continue directing and Spike Jonze producing. According to a Paramount press release the star and producer Johnny Knoxville is shooting high…well kind of:

…we’re going to take the same 3D technology James Cameron used in Avatar and stick it up Steve O’s butt. We’re taking stupid to a whole new dimension.

I can’t exactly see them using the motion capture technology used with Avatar, but a cheaper version of the 3D of course. I had quite some fun with the first two films and a third, especially in 3D, should be harmless. Count me excited.

Jackass 3D hits theaters October 15th, 2010.

Do you want to see another Jackass…in 3D?
