Freakonomics, a documentary based on the best-selling nonfiction book, written by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner ,will close the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.
The movie is based on the 2005 book by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner, fully titled Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything. The book is a collection of economic articles, in which the six chapters cover such diverse topics as finding commonalities between school teachers and sumo wrestlers to the socioeconomic patterns of naming children.
This unique documentary is directed by an impressive array of critically acclaimed filmmakers: Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady (Jesus Camp), Alex Gibney (Tribeca 2010 festival films My Trip to Al-Qaeda and the Untitled Eliot Spitzer Film), Seth Gordon (The King of Kong), Eugene Jarecki (Why We Fight), and Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me).
