Legendary shock filmmaker Greghig Araki debuted his latest film, Kaboom, at Cannes this week and three clips from the forthcoming feature have debuted online. The film is a return to Araki’s early 90’s style of filmmaking, in the vein of Nowhere or The Doom Generation. The film’s about a college film student who is undetermined on his sexual preference. TV’s Thomas Dekker (The Sarah Connor Chronicals) plays the lead in this twisted black comedy.

Araki’s last feature, the Anna Faris-led Smiley Face, was a considerable drop in quality after his 2004 masterpiece Mysterious Skin. Judging by these clips, Kaboom will likely fall somewhere in the middle on Araki’s continuum of quality.

WARNING: these clips contain strong language, nudity and strong sexual content. NSFW!
