There was a brief time when it was thought we may actually see two Pixar films in the same year, a feat that has yet to occur. The year would be 2012 and in their usual June summer slot we would have the wholly original Brave (concept art + info here) and then the Monsters Inc. prequel Monsters University that November. This is not the case though, as we are still getting Brave in the summer, but Monsters University has been pushed to June 21st, 2013.

Disney has moved Reboot Ralph to the November 2nd, 2013 slot, and frankly, it sounds awesome. Previously known as Joe Jump, the story follows “a low-bit video game character from the early 1980s who ends up in the high-bit world of modern videogames.”

Monsters University, the feature debut from Pixar’s Dan Scanlon, will now be in competition with Dreamworks/Paramount’s animation Turbo, which “tells the story of an ordinary garden snail with an impossible dream: to become the fastest snail in the world. When a freak accident gives him extraordinary speed, Turbo sets out to try to make this dream come true.” Ryan Reynolds, who will be seen in The Green Lantern this summer, is in talks for that film.

What do you think about Monsters University being pushed back? Are you looking forward to it?
