First-time film director Max Winkler (son of Henry) premiered his lovesick and quirky comedy Ceremony last fall at TIFF (read Jordan’s review here). As it will hit theaters this Spring, it’s about time we got a poster release.

And here it is:

Ceremony centers on a conniving young man (Michael Angarano of Gentleman Broncos) on his quest to disrupt his ex-girlfriend’s (Uma Thurman) wedding ceremonies but in the guise of reconnecting with an old friend.

While that’s a potentially pleasing plotline, and I love that the generally underused and underrated Lee Pace makes an appearance, this poster creeps me out. The radical age difference, the awkward forehead kiss, and the stalker-like tag line (He’s the love of her life. She just doesn’t know it yet.) all converge to create a generally unsettling image. Am I alone on this?

Ceremony will hit theaters on April 8, 2011, but you can catch it on VOD as early as March 4.

What do you think of Ceremony’s poster?
