Featuring an fantastic ensemble cast of Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kate Winslet, Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion is one of our most anticipated films of the fall. Scripted by The Bourne Ultimatum and The Informant! writer Scott Z. Burns, the film follows the outbreak of an airborne virus.
We now have our first poster from Arrow In The Head. It looks like an early promo one, but it is our first official glimpse at Matt Damon in the film. I like the style, but there isn’t much more to say regarding the art. Sodbergh has compared the multi-narrative story to his hit Traffic and the film will come out October 21st, 2011, with a rumored IMAX release. Check it out below.
UPDATE: Removed at the request of Warner Bros.
Synopsis:
“Contagion” follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.
In less exciting news, we also have the first poster for Final Destination 5 and the Footloose remake. The former is from Arrow In the Head, while the latter comes from MTV. You can check out the trailer for the horror update here, directed by Avatar visual effects supervisor and second unit director Steven Quale. Eric Heisserer, who wrote the Nightmare on Elm Street update and the upcoming prequel to The Thing, scripted the next iteration in the popular horror series. Nicholas D’Agosto, Emma Bell, Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta and Tony Todd. Final Destination 5 hits theaters August 12th, 2011.
UPDATE: Removed at the request of Warner Bros.
Synopsis:
In this fifth installment, Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one man’s premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.
Footloose will have its trailer premiere tonight, but the first poster can be seen below for the film directed by Black Snake Moan and Hustle & Flow‘s Craig Brewer. The update stars Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough, Dennis Quaid, and Miles Teller. Footloose hits theaters October 14th, 2011.
