In a summer filled with blockbuster after blockbuster, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has a chance to top them all, box-office wise. Rob Marshall (Chicago, Nine) has taken over directing duties from Gore Verbinski, and with a new trailer, I’m actually looking forward to the film. It looks to be the Jack Sparrow show and that is something I have no qualms over.
On Strangers Tides stars Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Ian McShane, Kevin R. McNally, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Sam Claflin and Geoffrey Rush. Yahoo has debuted this new trailer and you can see it below.
Synopsis: In PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth when a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz) forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane).
The film hits IMAX theaters on May 20th, 2011 in 3D.
