The family Easter flick Hop showed some consistency, earning the top spot in its second weekend. It grossed $21.6 million, well ahead of Arthur‘s $12.6 and Hanna‘s $12.3 million. Also notice that Russell Brand holds the top two spots right now.

Soul Surfer surprised with a big 4th place finish, earning $11.1 million, while Your Highness stumbled out of the gates with a $9.5 million opening in 6th place. In limited releases, our top pick of the month, Meek’s Cutoff grabbed a high $11,150 per-theater-average

Next weekend sees another animated film coming out in Rio. It will go up against Scream 4. Though Scream 4 certainly has the franchise crowd, with a wider release and the family draw, I predict Rio to take the top spot. But look for Hop to continue its strong run, especially with Easter approaching.
