If one questioned whether or not Kathryn Bigelow‘s Zero Dark Thirty would be a factor in the awards race, it was confirmed this afternoon as the New York Film Critics gave the film Best Picture honors, as well as directing and cinematography nods. With the film set to debut in just a few weeks for a limited run before going wide, Sony has more media from the project that chronicles the hunt for Osama bin Laden.

I was able to see the thrilling, thorough procedural recently and it’s certainly one to check out when you can, but today we have a preview of one of the later scenes in the film. In this second clip, Jessica Chastain stands by while the Navy Seal Team 6 starts their mission — it’s a tense introduction to the gripping act that follows. Check out the clip below via Moviefone, as well as new stills thanks to Filmofilia.

Zero Dark Thirty opens on December 19th, before expanding wide in January.
