After rising to fame in AMC’s Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul is using his newfound free time following the conclusion of the series to edge his way into Hollywood. His first major big-budget lead role is coming next spring with an adaptation of the hit videogame series Need For Speed and tonight the first, brief footage has landed, released within a featurette for the film.
We can see a few glimpses of Paul behind the wheel alongside what looks to be exactly what people are looking for in such a project: fast cars and high-flying stunts. While we can’t say we’re highly anticipating the film, if Act of Valor co-director Scott Waugh can bring the same sense of fun as Justin Lin has to the recent Fast & Furious films, we’re on board. Check out the featurette below for the Dominic Cooper, Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek, Imogen Poots, Dakota Johnson and Scott Mescudi.
Synopsis:
Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, muscle car mechanic and street racer Tobey (Aaron Paul) gets out of prison determined to settle the score with the man responsible for his false conviction. Tobey tears up the road in a gritty cross-country journey— one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption.
Need For Speed arrives on March 14th.
