The Disappointments Room

After taking part in the utterly delightful Love & Friendship this summer, Kate Beckinsale is returning to the horror genre this fall with The Disappointments Room. Directed by D.J. Caruso (Disturbia, Eagle Eye), it follows a mother and her young son as they release unimaginable horrors from the attic of their rural dream home.

Ahead of a release in just a few weeks, the first trailer has now dropped and it mostly looks like your run-of-the-mill offering in the genre, although we are intrigued by the screenplay by Wentworth Miller, who last wrote Stoker. Let’s just hope The Disappointments Room also doesn’t describe the theater one is in when the film ends. Also starring Lucas Till and Gerald McRaney, check out the trailer below.

The Disappointments Room opens September 9, 2016.
