Brad Pitt is returning to World War II (again), but this time in more of a romance-tinged thriller. He’ll take the lead in one of the most promising films of the fall: Robert Zemeckis‘ spy drama Allied. The film follows Pitt as an intelligence officer who encounters a French Resistance fighter (Marion Cotillard) and falls in love, but things are not quite as they seem.
Ahead of a November release, Paramount has now dropped the first trailer, which runs only a minute, but shows a great deal of footage as we see the back-and-forth “test” the couple plays. Full of action, romance, explosions, and a birthing, this seemingly has it all.
Check out the first trailer below for the film also starring Lizzy Caplan and Matthew Goode:
“ALLIED” is the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.
Allied opens on November 23rd.
