The latest film to fall under the reboot axe is Daredevil, Deadline Hollywood reports. The 2003 superhero film, starring Ben Affleck, made over double it’s budget, taking in almost $180 million. Writing the reboot script is David Scarpa (The Day The Earth Stood Still) and producing is Peter Chernin, who is spearheading the new Planet of the Apes film. The reason for the reboot? “Hollywood studios with Marvel superheroes need to keep reinventing these Marvel movie franchises or the rights revert back to Disney-based Marvel.”

I’ve never actual made it through Ben Affleck’s Daredevil, but I’m starting to get numb from all the reboot news. I’d rather see them take on a mediocre film to make it better, so I have no problems with this. There is always a chance it could turn out well, but with Fox and superheroes that is slim.
