Terrorism and comedy usually aren’t used in the same sentence, but for Chris Morris‘ directorial debut, Four Lions, it’s appropriate. The trailer for the Sundance hit has just debuted via MSN and it looks like a wildly funny satire. The film is written by Peep Show creators Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong. Check it out below.

Plot: Four Lions tells the story of a group of British jihadists who push their abstract dreams of glory to the breaking point. As the wheels fly off, and their competing ideologies clash, what emerges is an emotionally engaging (and entirely plausible) farce. In a storm of razor-sharp verbal jousting and large-scale set pieces, Four Lions is a comic tour de force; it shows that-while terrorism is about ideology-it can also be about idiots.

Four Lions is set for a May 7th release in the UK, but we will be lucky if it ever hits US theaters.

What do you think about Four Lions? Does it push the edge a bit much for you?
