Zoe Kravitz, daughter of rocker Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, has been slowly making a name for herself with small film roles but is on the cusp of becoming a big name in Hollywood. Not only does she have the big budget X-Men: First Class coming out this summer but the teaser for her first leading role has surfaced online via SXSW‘s official YouTube account. The film, entitled Yelling to the Sky, is the debut film from writer/director Victoria Mahoney and will debut at Berlinale in addition to SXSW.

The coming of age tale deals with a high school aged girl, Kravitz, who must take charge of her life once her mother and sister abandon the home due to her abusive father. Kravits is joined by Oscar nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe (who appears to be playing a bully) and character actor Tim Blake Nelson. Also making an appearance in the film is the immensely talented Shareeka Epps from Half Nelson.
