After Sherlock Holmes proved it could hold its own next to the mammoth Avatar this past winter, we all knew a sequel was inevitable. Now Heat Vision has confirmed a date. It will be released December 16th, 2011 squaring off against Brad Bird‘s Mission Impossible IV. WB CEO Barry Beyer also confirmed more dates for some of their 25 2011 releases, all of which were previously known. Check them out below.

— Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (3D): July 15
— Journey to the Center of the Earth 2 (3D): Sept. 23
— Happy Feet 2 (3D): Nov. 18
— New Year’s Eve: Dec. 9
They also confirmed plans for a Flash movie, based on the DC Comics superhero. Also, like we reported a few weeks ago (via IESB) that the new Christopher Nolan-produced Superman film is looking at a Christmas 2012 release. He also said “films featuring Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Mad magazine characters also in development.”
