A new poster has been released for Ridley Scott‘s Robin Hood. The film stars Russell Crow, Cate Blanchett, William Hurt, Matthew Macfadyen, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, Lea Seydoux, Scott Grimes, Kevin Durand, Alan Doyle, Danny Huston and Max von Sydow. Check out the poster below.

A new international trailer has also been released, which shows much more than the previous domestic one. Check that out below.

According to sources at The Wrap, Robin Hood could be getting a 3D conversion. They report:

Director Ridley Scott is breathing down the neck of executives at Universal to get them to approve making a 3D version of his new $200 million epic, “Robin Hood,” according to one person close to the project. “It would cost only an additional $7 to $8 million to create a 3D version of “Robin Hood.”

It was previously reported that Ridley Scott was blown away by James Cameron‘s Avatar and said that his upcoming Forever War adaptation has “got to be in 3D”.  Maybe he wants to see how it will work with Robin Hood. I don’t think it’s a good idea, much like Clash of the Titan‘s conversion to 3D. I believe films should know before production if they are making a 3D film. Adding it after the fact seems a bit cheap and for the wrong reasons.

Robin Hood hits theaters May 14th, 2010.

Do you like the new poster/trailer? Do you want to see Robin Hood being converted to 3D?
