This past March we reported (via Latino Review) that as Sony sold The Shadow rights to Fox, Sam Raimi had passed possible directing duties to David Slade, who most recently did The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Now, Pajiba has new information that a new co-writer and possible director is attached. It is none other than Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds, Pulp Fiction).
It is not known the extent in which Tarantino is interested and it could be one of just the many projects the man is involved in. The Shadow originated in the 1930s as a radio serial (voiced by Orson Welles in some episodes).
Universal also produced a live-action feature of the comic-strip hero, starring Alec Baldwin as the dashing Lamont Cranston, who moonlights as hero vigilante The Shadow. His superpower is invisibility. It would definitely be interesting to see Tarantino take on a project like this, but I can’t see him doing it. Check back with TFS for more updates on The Shadow.
