Well, this marks the second poster in just under two days that features Gerard Butler and a machine gun. After a shoddy sales poster, I’m glad to see the official one-sheet for Ralph Fiennes‘ directorial debut delivers. In the update to William Shakespeare‘s Coriolanus, Fiennes must team up with his mortal enemy (Butler) to take revenge on the city of Roman. Scripted by Gladiator and The Aviator‘s John Logan, the film also stars Vanessa Redgrave, Brian Cox and Jessica Chastain. Synopsis:
Coriolanus (Ralph Fiennes), a hero of Rome, is a great soldier but despises the people. His extreme views ignite a mass riot and he is banished from Rome. Coriolanus allies with a sworn enemy (Gerard Butler) to take his revenge on the city.
The Weinstein Company will release Coriolanus on December 2nd, 2011.
