We got one announcement in June and another just a few weeks ago that animation king Pixar have set two release dates for secret upcoming films. We made a few guesses at what they could be, but now at Disney’s D23 Expo we have the first official details.

Both films come from the Up team, the first from co-director Bob Peterson. Currently going under The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs, the studio described it as, “What if that life-changing asteroid missed Earth? Director Bob Peterson’s hilarious tale depicts a world where dinosaurs never went extinct.” Just judging from this synopsis, I love that Pixar is tackling another original project after the shockingly poor Cars 2.

I find it interesting that they opt for the word “hilarious,” when this situation looks like it could be handled somewhat serious. I guess we won’t see any dinosaur-on-human violence, but you can check out the first pieces of concept art way back from the Up special features below via Bleeding Cool. The film will hit theaters on November 27th, 2013.

The second film the studio announced is from the other Up co-director Peter Docter and is only described as “an inventive new film that explores a world that everyone knows, but no one has seen: inside the human mind.”

We know it will hit theaters on May 30th, 2014, but The Playlist also provides another tibit. They have a source that says Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3 screenwriter Michael Arndt will pen the script and that is “wildly ambitious.”

As for the next Pixar films, Brave hits on June 22nd, 2012, followed by their Monsters Inc. prequel, Monsters University, on June 21st, 2013.

What do you think about these two new projects from Pixar?
