Though Paul Walker has yet to head a successful film that did not involve hijacking cars in endlessly strange and creative ways, Mimran Schur Pictures’ Jordan Schur and David Mimran, along with Steven Schneider and Durst, are putting their money in the hands of the forever young actor’s appeal, casting him as the lead in the thriller Pawn Shop Chronicles.

Lionsgate (this is my surprised face) will distribute in the states and sell the property across the world, begging the question: how big is Limp Bizkit and/or Takers in Japan? In fairness, Schur called the project “a hillbilly Pulp Fiction,” so there’s that to look forward to. The plot involves a missing wedding ring which connects multiple narratives. There are drug dealers and Elvis impersonators present here, thanks to the screenplay by Adam Minarovich. [THR]

The plan is to begin production this spring in Michigan. Real glad they’re rushing to get this one into movie theaters.

How old do you think Paul Walker is?
