For reasons I’m still trying to figure out, James Franco has taken it upon himself to chronicle the life of Lindsay Lohan, as well as himself, in an upcoming film. According to The Guardian, the actor-turned-director/artist/author has been billed to helm an upcoming “video/art project”, where the hunt for lookalikes to portray the stars has already begun.
Apparently the producers for the odd project, Vince Jolivette and Miles Levy, are seeking “Lindsay Lohan types” and “James Franco types”, who will reflect the ages 13, 21, 30, 45 and 60. For the lucky winners, they will be examining the life of “two Hollywood celebrities”.
Although the duo worked briefly together on the 2006 film, The Holiday, and could be considered “friends” of sorts, I just can’t see why this project would be worthwhile for anyone. Sure, we all love watching a great trainwreck, but why, Franco, why? I really just want to know the whole motivation and thought process behind thinking a film or “project” like this would make money or be a good idea at all. But like many ventures Franco goes forth with, I guess that’s asking too much.
As if you need anymore reminding, Lohan will be seen next in the upcoming Lifetime biopic titled Liz and Dick, where she will be portraying Elizabeth Taylor. Even though the actress is currently on probation, she’s still able to shoot the Paul Schrader-directed thriller, The Canyons. As for Franco, we all know he’s kept busy, as he’ll be seen next in Sam Raimi‘s Oz: The Great and Powerful, as well as Harmony Korine‘s Spring Breakers.
