If any of you thought the upcoming Evil Dead remake would wuss out on the gore aspect, prepare to be surprised — and possibly sickened. The first official red band trailer has arrived today for Fede Alvarez‘s directorial debut and it is a shocker. Featuring some of the most unsettling imagery I’ve ever seen in one of these red band looks, Sony certainly has quite a horror movie ready for next spring. While I may miss the laughs to be had in the original film, this one looks to be made for horror fans requiring buckets of blood. Produced by Ash himself Bruce Campbell, along with Sam Raimi, the film stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore. Synopsis:
In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.
Evil Dead arrives on April 12th.
