“I would like to take all of the comics and start to build the Marvel universe. We’ll have 15 productions in the next two years!,” Kevin Feige recently declared to Vanity Fair. “22 movies in, and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before—intentionally.”

That quote will either cause you to recoil into a corner and stay far away from multiplexes for the next few decades or it will have you marking every opening date in your calendar. While recent Marvel films have already felt like an Avengers team-up, a true reunion will happen this May when Infinity War arrives, leading to a 2019 feature that Feige promises will actually include something this universe hasn’t had before: “a finale.”

The first trailer has now arrived for the Russo brothers’ summer tentpole, which features Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Paul Rudd, Dave Bautista, Benecio del Toro, Chadwick Boseman, Don Cheadle, Peter Dinklage, Tom Holland, Terry Notary, Paul Bettany, and more familiar faces. Check it out below.

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
