If you thought the first two trailers brought the crazy, the first clip for David Cronenberg‘s Cosmopolis continues the trend. Based on the novel by Don DeLillo, the clip features Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon making a stop at a diner, in the story of the young multi-billionaire who journeys across Manhattan in his luxurious, hi-tech stretch limo to get a haircut.

The dialogue is very specific and will hopefully click better in the context of the full film, but Cronenberg is at least embracing his weirder side compared to his last feature, A Dangerous Method. The framing and cinematography, coupled with the inclusion of rats being flung across the diner, still reminds me of an earlier Cronenberg and that’s an exciting thing. Also starring Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti and Kevin Durand, one can see the clip below via Allocine.
