Have you ever wanted to see Woody and Buzz team up for a live-action film? Disney is in the business of making your dreams come true, and their latest project is looking to fulfill just that. Deadline reports that the studio is in negotiations with stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to team for Jungle Cruise. Based on, of course, the Magic Kingdom theme park ride, the script will be written by Roger S.H. Schulman (Shrek, sequels to The Jungle Book, Mulan, Fox and the Hound, and Bambi).

There are little details, including no director yet. We know The Fighter producers David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are also attached. With Pirates Of The Caribbean being a huge cashcow for the studio, it is no surprise they are going after similar territory. Based on Schulman’s credits this will likely be much more family friendly that the Jack Sparrow teen-oriented adventures.

The studio also has another theme park centered film in the works. With Jon Favreau leaving Iron Man 3, we reported Disney has set the director on Magic Kingdom. Add in Toy Story 3 breaking $1 billion and you can expect Jungle Cruise to be grand spectacle. It also sounds more in the Jungle 2 Jungle and The Santa Clause territory for Allen. And that is more pleasing than any sort of Hogs or Dogs.

What do you think about this project? Are you happy to see this duo team up?
