When remaking a movie, it’s always a good idea to bring something new and fresh to the mix. Instead, the latest marketing ploy for Conan the Barbarian (the remake of the 1982 Arnold Schwarzenegger action adventure Conan the Barbarian, in case you were wondering) employs Flash animation in their new “poster.”

Likely to adorn the sidebars of a bevy of sites before it’s release this summer, you can see it features a tempestuous sky and a mountain of skulls, while Conan, adorned in wafting skirts and flowing locks, hangs his head (heroically?)

The action-adventure stars Jason Momoa (Stargate: Atlantis) as the brawny barbarian who’s on a quest to seek retribution for the murder of his father and devastation wrought on his village. Ron Perlman and Rose McGowan co-star.

Conan the Barbarian hits theaters August 19, 2011.

Does this motion poster have you pumped for Conan the Barbarian‘s return to theaters?
