We were all pretty happy when it was announced the man who resurrected Batman would be helping reboot Superman. Now Deadline reports producers Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas have begun meeting with a short list of directors.
They include Tony Scott (Man of Fire, The Taking of Pelham 123), Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In), Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles, Clash of the Titans 2), Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code), and Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300). It’s an all-star cast, but I’m most interested in Matt Reeves and Duncan Jones. They can do a lot with a little budget and have the most creativity out of anyone on the list.
David Goyer has written the script and Nolan will submit his choice within a few weeks. It’s also reported that WB will have “major announcements involving DC characters coming in 4 weeks.”
Warner Bros and Legendary plan to release the film by Christmas 2012 or else they will lose the rights to the heirs of Superman creator Jerry Siegel.
Who do you want to see direct Superman: The Man of Steel?
