Chris Tucker is the smartest actor in Hollywood and yes I’m aware following that picture with that sentence wasn’t that great of an idea. But hear me out folks; after slowly gaining steam in the 90’s, he lucked into 1998’s Rush Hour with Jackie Chan which went on to gross a ridiculous amount of money. Since then, he’s only been in two movies; both Rush Hour sequels to be precise. Why is that smart? Because the man put away 15 million for the first flick, 20 for the second, somewhere near 30 for the third. The man found a franchise that sells, and got to the live the American Dream of working very little while doing rich people things. If I was to pick a career path, it would be his. Seriously.
That’s why I’m shocked Chris Tucker has decided to come back; according to Deadline, a spec script for a project called The Rabbit has sold to Warner Bros. The movie, which is supposedly comparable to Midnight Run, isn’t in production and has no start date, but Tucker is already attached to star. In fact, that’s probably why it sold. I know this isn’t the most exciting news you’ve heard all day (Emma Stone is blonde now!), but come on did you actually expect Chris Tucker to ever act again? I didn’t, that’s for sure.
Am I the only one kind of pumped to see Chris Tucker actually do something sans Brett Ratner and Jackie Chan? And seriously, how cool was The Fifth Element?
