In an epic franchise reboot Variety is reporting that Star Trek lead Chris Pine is in talks to play the new Jack Ryan character. There has been many rumors on who will be the new character and it looks like Paramount has it almost locked down. Writer Hossein Amini recently submitted a new draft that is based on a completely original story rather than one from a Tom Clancy novel.
Chris Pine is now shooting Unstoppable with Denzel Washington, directed by Tony Scott (Taking of Pelham 123, Deja Vu) and has recently been in talks for D.J. Caruso‘s The Art of Money Making. We also can’t forget about the inevitable Star Trek 2. I think Pine has some serious star power and would love him to play Jack Ryan.
