Although this will likely not amount to much, it’s a fun little diversion to the otherwise mindless news cycle that accompanies superhero films. Sony Pictures and Marc Webb are set to release their re-do of Spidey this summer with The Amazing Spider-Man and new info has popped up on a more-than-qualified writer who had his hand in the screenplay. It’s nothing new on the blockbuster front to have big names do some uncredited touch-ups. The latest is Bridesmaids director Paul Feig, who helped his friend Webb on a few of the high school scenes between Andrew Garfield‘s Peter Parker and Emma Stone‘s Gwen Stacy, reportedly a major element in this reboot. The Freaks & Geeks creator is a welcome helping hand for the high school setting he has mastered, but it’s presumptuous to assume we’ll glean any of his influence on a 2+ hour final product. The Amazing Spider-Man, also starring Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field and Denis Leary opens everywhere on July 3, 2012.
