Drew at HitFix reports actor Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, Wedding Crashers) has beat out Ryan Gosling and Chris Pine to being a lock for the DC superhero and planned film franchise. Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) has been signed on to direct and Warner Bros. announced a $150 million budget for The Green Lantern, with shooting still set for July in Sydney, Australia.
This is great news! Bradley Cooper was the only watchable part in He’s Just Not That Into You. His breakout role in Wedding Crashers was memorable and I have since enjoyed him in Midnight Meat Train. The upcoming Todd Phillips comedy The Hangover looks hilarious. It will be interesting to see him as a superhero. Count me excited for him as Green Lantern.
