Being the highest-grossing film of all-time also comes with its downsides. James Cameron‘s epic topped TorrentFreak‘s list of the most pirated films of the year, taking the crown from J.J. Abram‘s Star Trek last year. Keep in mind the list is for piracy within 2010, not films released in 2010, hence Avatar‘s inclusion.

You can view the top 10 below, but I find it interesting to note Kick-Ass at number two. While it didn’t do gangbusters at the box office, it certainly garnered some attention. Green Zone, also failing at the box office, made quite a dent with pirates. It is also interesting to see the small-budget Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker on the list, when bigger blockbusters such as Toy Story 3 and Alice In Wonderland are nowhere to be found.
