While he’s deep in the editing process on Inception, Christopher Nolan was asked about his involvement with the third film in his Batman reboot and the apparent reboot of the Superman franchise by Hero Complex (via GordonandtheWhale, Cinematical). His quotes on Batman 3 and Superman are as follows:
On a third film in his franchise:

It’s not much, but when it’s for a film this high profile it’s enough to warrant a news story.
So here it is:

It’s as if kryptonite has spilled out of the superhero world and into our public water system – and we’re all genetically connected to Clark Kent. Yes, the harsh thought of a first time director at the helm of the new Superman film might come to be an inevitable truth. But please, don’t position a gun to your dome quite yet. Read the full story

I know what you are thinking. Nearly every actor in The Dark Knight has said some unfounded rumor about the next film for awhile now. Well, here is our first real evidence. While on the set of John Landis’ Burke and Hare, starring Andy Serkis and Simon Pegg, a source over at Moving Image is reporting that one of the crew members (that worked previously with Nolan on Inception and The Dark Knight) has given a few updates. The first deals with the next Batman film: Read the full story

There has been rumors of Warner Bros trying to get Superman back on the big screen for quite some time now. Deadline is reporting that they have looked to none other than Christopher Nolan, who successfully revived the Batman franchise with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. He has a “godfather” role in the development process, making sure all the right decisions are made to bring back Superman. Not only that, he has “hatched an idea” the next Batman film and, as we reported yesterday, his brother Jonah Nolan and David Goyer are currently in the writing process. Read the full story

I saw this news yesterday and brushed it off as a aimless rumor, but since other sites seem to be picking it up I will share it with our readers. Nikki Finke over at Deadline posted a story about Flashforward showrunner David Goyer leaving the ABC show. Packed right in the middle she says, “Goyer’s feature career is really heating up, since he co-wrote Batman Begins, and penned the story for The Dark Knight, and is now writing the third Batman installment with Chris Nolan’s brother Jonah.” Now there is no confirmation from anyone that this is happening, so take it as a rumor. It’s quite possible they are putting work into the project as Christopher Nolan’s upcoming summer blockbuster, Inception, has wrapped and he is likely looking for his next film.
In my recently posted list of 10 Films That Could Rival Avatar’s Box Office, the third Batman film is high up. I hope Nolan steers clear of the whole 3D craze, but I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next. For now, I’m just looking forward to Inception, because it looks a whole lot more interesting that any superhero film.
What do you want to see in the next Batman film?

Christopher Nolan’s next movie Inception might be as mindblowing as Memento if what star Leonardo DiCaprio says is true. In an interview with Inquirer Entertainment, the bona fide movie star indicated that he wasn’t even sure what the final product was to be. Read the full story

After its amazing and yet perhaps somewhat polarizing teaser and first official trailer, they hype for Christpher Nolan’s Inception is beginning to ramp up for the general moviegoing public. Posters are cropping up at movie theaters, a rumored Super Bowl spot is on the way and now we have another official photo. Found over at /Film, the photo features a very INTENSE looking Leonardo DiCaprio holding what is either a gun with a long silencer, or instead a very large gun. Either way, it looks damn cool, and you can view it below:

While there are spoilery details online about the specifics of the plot (although even those could be wrong), the plot is being kept a secret, and all that’s really been said is that it deals with “a company that plants and extracts information from people’s minds”, and whatever that may mean will at least lead to something interesting.
And then of course when you add on the fact that one of the best living directors, Christopher Nolan, is writing and directing, and this is his first wholly original work since his debut film Following, and that the trailer is sort of mind-blowing, I find it impossible to not be excited. This stands as my most anticipated movie of 2010, and July can’t get here soon enough.
What do you think of this photo? Are you excited for Inception?

While not much is known about the project at this current point in time, anticipation is certainly building for Inception, the seventh film from Christopher Nolan, who just so happens to be coming off of one of the biggest films of all time, which is due for release next summer. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, the movie involves…something happening with people’s minds (you can read potentially spoilerish details online, but why ruin the fun for people who don’t know?), and the secrecy has really only added to allure of the picture. The first poster and some musings below: Read the full story
