Despite the fact that Sex and the City 2 got panned by critics, a third one will most likely be made. There is one major difference though, don’t expect to see Miranda, Samantha, Charlotte and Carrie as you know them now, the third movie in the series will be a prequel.

E! Online reports that Candace Bushnell’s novel, The Carrie Diaries, which deals with Carrie’s life as a teenager, is being adapted into a film.

This really comes as no surprise, despite the poor reviews the film has still made a very respectable amount of money and the series has a large following.

The film being a prequel, wouldn’t star Sarah Jessica Parker or any of the other stars from the show. It may not even feature Miranda, Charlotte or Samantha since Carrie didn’t know them as a teenager.
