Inception‘s totem has fallen. The Adam McKay comedy The Other Guys has taken first place this weekend with an estimated $35.6m. The Christopher Nolan blockbuster secured second place with a small 32.3% drop, taking in $18.6m.

In third place was the other wide debut of the weekend, Step Up 3-D, taking in $15.5m. Charlie St. Cloud, which debuted last week had the biggest drop in the Top 10 this weekend, falling to 8th place with $4.7m.

Toy Story 3 should cross the $400m by next weekend, as it made another $3m this weekend bringing its total to $396.3m.

In limited releases, George Gallo‘s Middle Men and Joel Schumacher‘s Twelve both did abysmal at the box office. The former had a per-theater-average of $1,210 while the latter had a minuscule $463. Rob Reiner’s Flipped fared quite better, averaging $5,200 across 45 theaters.
