Out of all the upcoming blockbusters headed our way this year, the latest in The Hunger Games franchise seems to be the least in need of advance hype. But nonetheless, Lionsgate are pushing forward and instead of simply releasing the first trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire as is, they’ve debuted a measly ten seconds ahead of the full thing on April 14th, which features Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence back in the lead role.
In more substantial news, the turds over at Deadline are reporting that Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth is getting set for the lead role in The Raven (fortunately not a remake of last year’s John Cusack bomb). Rather, this is a sci-fi thriller, scripted by Michael Gilio and Justin Marks, and coming from Ricardo de Montreuil, who helmed a short film the project is based on. If he commits, Hemsworth would star as Chris Black, a man who “possesses a power that could lead to the destruction of the current regime, and they will stop at nothing to destroy him.” Check out the Catching Fire tease below via MTV, but more intriguing is the full short film The Raven, which we’ve embedded in HD.
