Having earned the World Cinema Jury Prize, it’s safe to say that David Michod‘s Animal Kingdom was one of the surprise favorites at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Only adding to the anticipation surrounding the film is the fact that Blue Tongue Films backed the production, the same Australian company responsible for films such as Hesher, The Square, and the infamous short film Spider.
Michod‘s crime drama, a complicated tale of survival amidst a powerful crime family, has seen its U.S. trailer be released online, courtesy of Twitch. The film stars Guy Pearce (Memento), Ben Mendelsohn, Joel Edgerton (The Square), Luke Ford, James Frecheville, and Jacki Weaver.
Animal Kingdom, which is currently sitting at 100% on the Tomatometer with over twenty reviews, will enjoy a U.S. release on August 13th. Give the trailer a watch below.
