Last spring we interviewed Ben Stiller at the Night at the Museum 2 premiere and he said he planned to direct Zoolander 2. It looks like that isn’t that case as Deadline is reporting that Tropic Thunder and Iron Man 2 scribe Justin Theroux will direct and co-write (with Ben Stiller) a PG-13 Zoolander 2 for Paramount. Theroux is even headed to Paris for Fashion Week to “immerse himself on what is current in fashion”. It is reported that the project has “momentum” and that everyone wants Owen Wilson to return, but no deal is set yet. What is more interesting is that Jonah Hill is in negotiations to play the villain.

I remember seeing Zoolander in theaters only a few weeks after 9/11 and have re-watched it many times, still finding it hilarious. I don’t think it necessarily warrants a sequel, but I would love to see Ben Stiller do this than another Night at the Museum. I think Justin Theroux is a great writer and I even like his small part in this season of Parks and Recreations.

Do you want to see a Zoolander 2 with a Jonah Hill villain?
