gentlemen broncos

Here is a round-up of a few trailers in the past couple of weeks that we have yet to post. Apple has just released the first trailer for director Jarod Hess’ new comedy Gentleman Broncos. It stars Michael Angarano as Benjamin, a home-schooled, budding sci-fi writer, whose first story is stolen by a legendary fantasy novelist, Ronald Chevalier (Jemaine Clement). The story is then developed into a disastrous movie by a small town filmmaker while Benjamin does his best to reclaim the rights to the book.

Although the plot seems to mirror the 2002 film Big Fat Liar, Broncos looks like it could belong to a higher calibre of comedy. The jokes are in a similar style to Hess’ previous films Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre, but the plot which seems to ridicule the pop culture side of science fiction, will likely draw a larger crowd come its release on October 30.
