Judging from the extremely positive response at Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, Catfish is one of those films that the less you know, the better. The social networking/relationship documentary is directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. Universal has picked it up for a theatrical release this fall and judging from the trailer below (via Apple), you won’t want to miss it.

Plot: In late 2007, filmmakers Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost sensed a story unfolding as they began to film the life of Ariel’s brother, Nev. They had no idea that their project would lead to the most exhilarating and unsettling months of their lives. A reality thriller that is a shocking product of our times, Catfish is a riveting story of love, deception and grace within a labyrinth of online intrigue.

Catfish hits theaters September 17th, 2010.
