After a short UK trailer, we now have the theatrical domestic trailer for the upcoming Sundance comedy The Guard. We loved the film when we saw it in Park City earlier this year comparing it to Hot Fuzz and In Bruges, and now Sony Pictures Classics will release it to audiences this summer. Directed by John Michael McDonagh, the film stars Brendan Gleeson, Don Cheadle, Mark Strong, and Fionnula Flanagan. Check out the trailer below via Apple.
Synopsis: THE GUARD is a comedic, fish out of water tale of murder, blackmail, drug trafficking and rural police corruption, and the two cops who must join forces to take on an international drug-smuggling gang, an unorthodox Irish policeman and a straitlaced FBI agent.
The Guard hits theaters July 29th, 2011.
