After some very generous people gave their hard-earned dollars to charity, Kevin Smith has seen fit to release a new poster for his next directorial feature, the horror movie Red State. Fans managed to raise $1000 dollars in less than 30 minutes to help The Wayne Foundation, an organisation which supports women who are victims of commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking. Check it out here.

The poster shows the character of The Virgin, who is played by Kerry Bische, dressed in rather childish clothes and sporting a look of girlish innocence. Red State also stars John Goodman, Melissa Leo, and Kyle Gallner and is set to be released in cinemas next year after premiering at Sundance Film Festival. We posted a set of new photos from the film this week, which you can also view here. The story follows a group of young adults who are unfortunate enough to come across a deranged preacher who tends to labor on the side of ‘extremist’ when it comes to the modern heresies of secularism.

What do you think to the poster? Creepy enough, or lacking a certain je na sais quoi?
